Form VII Concert

Posted on Friday, 19th June 2015 in Music & Drama

On Thursday 18th June, Form VII held a concert to show off their considerable talents. The show began at 6:45pm, after refreshments were served in the front hall with Freddie and Polly taking on the role of Ant and Dec. Playing first was Cara on the recorder. Her haunting rendition of the Titanic theme, ‘My Heart Will Go On’, moved the audience. Up next was another recorder player, Martha, who delivered a classic crowd-pleaser, ‘Mamma Mia’ by Abba. After that it was Yoshi, singing ‘Radioactive’ by Imagine Dragons. His dazzling performance was followed by Harriet, with a breathtaking version of ‘Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again’ from ‘Phantom of the Opera’. Cara then took the stage once more, to entertain us with another song from the Musicals, ‘On My Own’ from ‘Les Miserables.’ Next, Lottie and Jess played a piano duet entitled ‘The Dance of the Shepherd Girls’ which wowed the crowd. Harriet then performed a second number, playing ‘Presto’ on her flute to rapturous applause. Martha and Cara followed this with an amazing recorder duet, ‘Soracaba Benguine’.  They were followed by Ines, Yago and Ramon, who delighted the crowd with their spirited rendition of a classic Spanish song,  ‘Lagrimas Desordenadas.’ To close the show, the entire class sang ‘Chasing the Sun’ by The Wanted. The performance brought the house down and Form VII were rewarded with a standing ovation.
Thank you to all the fantastic performers, the front of house team, the refreshments team and stage management for all your hard work.  Thank you to all those who attended the show. Finally, a huge thank you must go to Mrs Wolton for helping us so much and to Mr V for encouraging us.
