Great progress for the U12s in Suffolk Team Tennis League

U12 Girls

After a successful first round win at Westley Middle we took on St Benedict’s in the second round of the league, knowing that the further you progress in the tournament, the tougher the opponents become as they start to field seeded players. My first match was the hardest I’ve played as I came up against a very good club player. Maria, Pippa and Frankie all had good games with long rallies and all three came away as winners. We were determined to finish off the afternoon strong with two wins in the doubles. We were made to work hard for every point by the opposition. The final score was 5 out of 6 wins for Moreton Hall. We moved a step closer to the finals with just one more round to play against King Edwards.

Thank you to St Benedicts for hosting and Mrs Taylor for taking us.

U12 boys

We were all eager to start as we pulled up at Thurston.  We warmed up and started playing the singles. Kit won 6-0 and Merlin won 6-3.  I won my singles 6-2 and Wilf overcame a hard match to win 7-6.  Kit and I started the doubles with their 1 and 2 seeded players and we won 6-1.  Wilf and Merlin played their doubles and won 6-2.  After winning all our matches in our own pool we had made it through to the quarter finals in June.

Thank you to Mr James for driving and coaching and Thurston for hosting.
