At Moreton Hall our aim is to foster a love of mathematics and to teach it as a life long skill, which has applications in every day life. We also aim to ensure that pupils attain their full mathematical ability through extension activities and providing extra support where necessary.

Up to Form V class teachers teach Maths. From Form VI onwards, pupils are taught by the Mathematics Co-ordinator in order to ensure continuity and progression. All lessons are streamed into two smaller sets in Forms VI, VII and VIII in order to prepare pupils for the Common Entrance and Scholarship examinations.

The expectation is that our pupils work beyond the standards set out by the Primary National Strategy for Numeracy.

We strive for pupils of Moreton Hall to leave with a sound grounding in both the basic and advanced skills, and to have an enthusiasm for and love of mathematics.
