Sports

Moreton Hall’s children have a time dedicated to Games every day. Our main sports are Hockey, Netball, Rounders, Rugby, Football and Cricket but our children also practise swimming, tennis, squash, badminton and Cross-Country. On the main school site we have our own pool, sports hall, cricket nets, tennis courts, pitches and astro.

Our teaching staff are highly qualified and have themselves competed at regional and international level in the sports they coach but just as importantly make the sessions enjoyable as well as challenging for the children.

Fixtures against other schools start as early as Year 2 and, as in all other departments, the focus is squarely upon inclusion and participation as much as excellence and progression.

Classes have a weekly swimming lesson from Nursery up to Year 4, then have the option to continue this further up the school by choice as part of our Games options system.

Tennis is available as both a group activity or as small group coached by an LTA professional.

Each Thursday, team captains read the previous day’s match report out in assembly; to experience the highs (and occasional lows!) of these masterpieces, please click here.
