U13 Boys v Town Close

We knew that this was going to be one of the toughest matches as they boast a number of county players.  I lost the toss and they chose to bat first.  We were determined to start well and so we did with Tyler taking the wicket of their best batsman and Wilf taking the catch. We soon took two more through Ed and a run out by me.  They managed to steady their innings with their captain scoring 42.  Grace was brought into the attack and, not to be intimidated by their powerful batsmen she took two quick wickets.  They finished on 146.

A big score to chase but we were going to go for it.  The first two balls Harry dispatched to the boundary giving us a promising start.  Harry and I got out early which meant we needed someone to score big.  Tyler kept the scoreboard ticking over and the next thing you know he has reached his third half century of the season.  We were back on target and their score was in sight, but we were losing wickets on the other end.  We fell short of their score by 10 runs finishing on 137/8.

Well done to Tyler for finishing on 71 not out and to Edward for his bowling performance of 3/16.

U11 Boys v Town Close

We won the toss and chose to bowl first.  Great bowling from Moreton Hall with wickets taken by Matthew, George, Ollie, Archie and Charlie.  Town Close finished on 67 runs.

Fraser and Ben opened the batting with Fraser not out and finishing the batting with Charlie.  We finsihed on 70 runs for 9 overs.

Man of the match goes to Matthew for taking 4 wickets.

Thank you to Mr Thompson for coaching and Matron for match tea.
